Frosting

So, we didn't know what we thought of the frosting for the Snicker Doodle cupcakes, but people seem to like it. It was really fluffy and airy. We heard alot of comparasions to a marshmallow. Glad you liked it!

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes

This week's adventure was the Snickerdoodle cupcake.  We switched it up a tad, and baked at Tee's house with an extra helper!  We solicited the help of our friend Joey, who is also on the journey to a more positive outlook on life, so we let her in on the cupcake cure.

The recipe was easy, and the batter tasted amazing, so we knew the cupcakes were going to be good!  The seven minute frosting on the other hand, wasn't anything to write home about.  We decided that next time we would add cinnamon to the frosting, not just sprinkle it on top, and look for a higher quality spice!  You really couldn't pair the cupcake with a heavier frosting like a buttercream because it would take away from the quality of the cupcake.  The frosting can not stand alone, but on top of the cupcake was a perfect match, you needed the airy consistency of the seven-minute frosting to top off the cookie like cupcake, overall, a very satisfying treat!!  Next up, Martha's Meyer Lemon Cupcakes!  Thanks Steve for letting us know they were in season!!

As always, if a cure to what ails you ends up in your hands, take a bite, and blog us in the morning!

Until next time,

Salted-Caramel Chocolate Cupcakes

Holy Hannah were these cupcakes good!  I think we picked the perfect one to start with!!  They were a bit labor intensive.   We started off making the caramel, then the cupcakes, and finally the frosting!  Let me just tell you, the frosting has 2 1/2 cups of butter in it.  These are not for the calorie counting kind!  Although time consuming, the recipe was easy to follow, and we had no major mishaps, unless you count the two tiny helpers as mishaps!!

It was a great morning, no complaining, and it definitely got our creative juices flowing.  Our first two non cupcake crafts are 1. aprons for our little helpers, and 2. St. Patty's shirts.  Next up for the cupcakes are Snickerdoodles, with seven minute frosting.  Tee is going to practice with the frosting this week, but if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to drop us a comment.

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, if a cupcake lands on your doorstep, please leave us a review!

Until next week,
